The Erotic Pinay – Female Sexuality Exposed

Let me unfasten myself from the restraint of the subtle issue of eroticism…For me, the erotic is an assertion of the “chi” of women, of that empowered creative vigor, the awareness and exercise of which have been reclaimed in our language, our history, our music, our arts, our dancing, our loving, our work and our lives.

One glorious day I was shopping at a bookstore closing-out sale. I was not supposed to judge a book by its cover, but this one caught my curiosity. Right on the front was a waist-up shot of a partially-nude Filipina woman. The model was confident in her fine skin, courtesy of Photoshop perhaps. Her arms crossed under her chest barely covered her beautiful breasts. I pick the magazine and started browsing the pages for more photos. But I was seduced by the delightfully written and exhaustive stories about the characters and their sexual experiences.

I appreciated reading about women enjoying sex, their bodies and defining their own sexuality and not how some hip-hop music, exploitative talk shows or other mediums have put a negative mark on female sexuality. If the writers were female in this piece of lit, then they were asserting their identity. The book only cost a few bucks that I certainly I could afford…

The erotic literature somehow fascinated me and I began to wonder about how women perceive their sexuality today. I know that many of us would instantly deem such erotic materials "repulsive."  But these same people were guys who made jokes and listened to edgy music. It's interesting how some people are uncomfortable with having a mature discussion about sex but feel more at ease with raunchy conversation.

Some of my friends surreptitiously admitted about reading erotic books and discussed about the love scenes. A family friend told me she read the books in bed with her husband. But everyone wasn't, nor still is, comfy on the topic. Some folks find it undignified and think the stories reinforce the typecast of people being oversexed. When I initiated a discussion in our workplace about eroticism, there were cheeks blushing, nervous laughter and throat clearing.

How time flies, things have partially changed since I read that erotic magazine… and the others that came into my sight. It seems like erotic lit may have reached its climax. People are still reading and authors are selling their stories. But now, I feel like the hype isn't there anymore. It's almost like being with same lover for quite a long time. You know her routine in the bedroom and have explored her physical territory many times. It's not as exciting as the first time, but you still love her. Is it time to spice things up in erotic literature? I don't mean more sex, but just a rebirth?

Dim the lights. Slip into something comfortable, and let me get under her covers...

WHEN A PINAY DREAMS OF BEING NAKED

I wonder if it is safe to say that almost every Filipina has had a dream where she was naked, or scantily clad in just her underwear. But I am certain that somehow the typicality of such instance is very real. Perhaps the dream was in school, or in a grocery store or even just walking down the street without a stitch of clothing on her back. Maybe she suddenly found herself nude on a beach, naked on the bus or up on a stage in her birthday suit. This is a common dream pattern, yet nakedness is a complex symbol in dreams which could be dependent on the culture in which the dream occurs and who is interpreting the experience.

Dream patterns arise from a society's shared beliefs, experiences, fears and anxieties, literally from the hopes and dreams of the people both individually and collectively. As such, these experiences which are fundamental to all peoples, will hold significant dependence upon the culture's attitude toward them. One population’s attitude toward nakedness can vastly differ from others. For example, in Pinoy culture, public nudity is a taboo and in almost all areas it is connotes abnormality and public scandal. As such, the Pinoy attitude towards nakedness is unfavorably a social humiliation.

Sigmund Freud considered the dream of nakedness as a typical dream and it fulfills an exhibitionistic wish. There are three characteristics of the dream of nakedness: shame at being naked, indifference on the part of the spectators (usually numerous), and the sense of being paralyzed. It can be interpreted as a fulfillment of an exhibitionistic wish dating back to the happy period of early childhood, when such a wish could legitimately be satisfied.  Such would be the case if a parent taught their child that nakedness and the human body are to be something hidden from the public view, or even more compounded if the parent taught that nudity is something to be ashamed of. Dreams of nakedness enable the dreamers to express their "undying longing for the return of the paradise of childhood. Dreams of nakedness, always linked to an erotic or exhibitionistic theme, are universal, and accordingly should be considered typical dreams. Despite their commonality, however, they have not yet led to a specific theorization.

However, wherever the origin of nakedness anxieties arise for an individual or culture as a whole, the human mind tends to create dreams in flashes of visual imagery which can symbolically represent our individual personal hopes and fears. For one dreamer, a dream of being naked could be a window to the inner self which indicates a fear of sexuality, being exposed or vulnerability and weakness. For yet another, it may have a more positive spin, indicating attributes such as honesty and openness (such as in the cliché "the naked truth").
Only the dreamer can interpret her own dreams of nakedness. For the Filipina, it could mean that wonderful feeling of being uninhibited, unencumbered, of being free to express herself as she chooses. For another, dream nudity will be a nightmare representing complete exposure of the deepest, most hidden parts of the self.

Dream dictionaries, interpreters and psychiatrists will all offer suggestions on what nakedness means in the dream based on their personal proclivities and schooling. You can go to any modern bookstore and find shelves of books which will tell you that one particular dream motif means one thing or another. However, you must decide for yourself how important underwear is to you, and what it means to be naked in the dream.

Dreams are a kind of entertainment and learning experience of their own at the same time. If you can figure out your dreams, you may have more insight into what needs paying attention to in your own life. In the meantime, dream well.

Another Famous Pinay!

The fact is - Filipinas who are individually famous have carved a proud image that could wash away  the tight niche that common views tend to wrap around their shoulders. Actually there are many of them who can stand tall and dignified before the judgmental stare of horny men and dominating houselords. When the biased expectations of the world anticipate the Pinay to pull off the house broom or her undies, one strong Pinay stuns the world with an admirable feat. Read below the Lisa Kaaki's feature in the Arab News of an admirable Filipina:

Bea Valdes: World-famous Filipina designer

In the next few years, Asian and African designers will play an increasing role on the global fashion scene. Even the most famous European fashion designers such as the genial Galiano and even the late Yves Saint Laurent often turned to the East for inspiration.

The Filipina designer, Bea Valdes, is currently enjoying an unprecedented success, both in Europe and the United States. Valdes, whose family has been working in the jewelry business for three generations, began designing evening bags in 2004. She soon became interested in statement neckpieces, these giant necklaces which add “wow” to the most casual clothes.

Her ‘artrageous’ creations have been photographed in Harper’s Bazaar, Newsweek, Glamour and Marie Claire. More recently, British Vogue’s September issue featured Kate Moss wearing only a Burberry trench coat and a sublime neckpiece by Bea Valdes. Sold in well-known shops such as Barney’s, Harvey Nichols and Saks Fifth Avenue, her jewelry has been worn by Sharon Stone, Kate Hudson and of course Kate Moss. A Bea Valdes piece, whether a bag or a neckpiece, takes around a month to finish. Each piece is handmade and can consist of up to 75 different beads, crystals, and even semiprecious stones. “I don’t really plan what I create. I begin by working on my panels. Sometimes, a panel will tell me what it wants to be, a bag or a neckpiece. We are a work in progress and that is the kind of mindset I plan on keeping for the years to come. We are in constant search of new material and we aim to evolve in design and technique,” she explains. She has chosen to remain in the Philippines where she works closely with her team of forty artisans. She feels it is important to maintain a creative environment and Manila is the only place where what she wants can be done as she wants.

Bea Valdes grew up in the Philippines. She graduated with a degree in Industrial Design from the University of the Philippines and then studied Interior Design in London. When she was applying to Central Saint Martins for Jewelry Design, a professor she met for an interview, saw the embroidered panels she had brought along and told her to use them as bags. In 2000, she created 12 egg-shaped bags which were an instant success. And her breakthrough happened when one of Bea’s clients brought some of the bespoke bags to Vogue and they immediately requested a photo shoot and an interview. She is presently famous for her gorgeous, bold necklaces, the niche she was looking for, a kind of jewelry which is neither fine nor costume.

“It was like trying to create the antithesis of fine jewelry while still capturing the drama of it,” says Bea who was surprised by customers’ reactions. A number of women felt they were too short to wear such huge pieces: “I am quite small myself and love the fact that the pieces are oversized.”

Bea draws some inspiration from outside the fashion world, presently she is mostly influenced by writers such as Edward Gorey and the French poet Charles Baudelaire. She admits that she likes pieces that tell a story and according to her sister Marga: “She designs everything for herself, something I would wear, something she would wear. It’s just something she would like.” As for Bea, every time she starts working on a new bag, she says: “This will be my favorite piece. And then, the next time I start another, I say it again. That’s my motivation.”
Her bold necklaces have been doing very well since they were launched on the market a couple of seasons ago. The best-selling pieces are the most intricate, most of which are bespoke. Besides the regular collections which are sold worldwide, Bea Valdes continues to do special orders for private customers in Manila and abroad.
Despite her global success, the most well-known Filipina designer remains unchanged. Bea Valdes still spends most of her time designing, despite the birth of her daughter, Bella. Her presence, however, has affected Bea’s creativity. She tends now to use fewer dark and bold colors in favor of pastels and light colors.
For Bea Valdes, “The most important thing in one’s life is that you do the work you love with the people you love.”

Simple Steps for Pinays to Overcome Anxiety

There are many young and old Filipinas who are continuously worrying about one thing or another. If this is not handled carefully, most of these adorable Pinays will be suffering from  anxiety disorders which can lead to very high anxiety, anxiety attacks, and panic attacks.

Our modern world provides several different reasons for this to happen and one big reason is the pace of life we are in nowadays - our women find it hard catching up. And there is the issue of overwhelming problems - money, kids, bills, relationships, and a myriad of other life situations. If the men in our lives couldn's hold us together, then the following tested and natural cures might shed some flicker into our lives.
  • Get enough sleep at night.
  • Leave work at work. Don’t think about it when you are not there. You can’t DO anything about it when you are not there.
  • Take up walking as a hobby. My life changed for the better as soon as I did that.
  • Start taking mini vacations . You don’t even have to leave town. Try this if you only have one day. Get up late after a good nights sleep. Sit around. Go for a walk. Pick out a good movie to go to. Enjoy the movie. After, go to a coffee shop (decaf) and talk about things with your partner. Later, relax at home, watch tv, read a book, take a long warm bath, go to bed and get plenty of sleep.
  • Watch your diet. Make it better, at least a little, reduce or drop altogether the anxiety producing drug called caffeine!
These anxiety reduction techniques will surely get you going in renewed spirit. Just getting enough sleep will effect a real makeover.Add to sleeping more the theraputic effects of walking and you’ll be wondering why you weren’t doing this all along. The same thing can be applied to weekends and any other time off. You need to refresh and recreate. Take apart that word recreate sometime! So you, by yourself, can have the biggest effect on your anxiety, naturally, without drugs. Add to these things some of the other excellent relaxation techniques available, and you will have quite an arsenal for yourself!

These recommendations, followed well, will produce amazing results. If your anxiety is up to attack levels ie. anxiety attacks and panic attacks you should know that there is a simple, ultra effective program that will enable you to stop panic/anxiety attacks fast, and forever. It has already worked for tens of thousands. You can get your life back!

Revealed Secrets on Dressing the Skinny Eco-Chic Way

The vacations and holidays have a way of making our resolve disappear, and while we may not be able to reverse our lapses, we can try to conceal those extra pounds–at least until we begin to experience results of our diet or at the gym. Now here are some secrets for looking slimmer, the eco-chic way.

1. Do Not Droop!
Here’s a simple and sage piece of friendly advice that costs nothing and can make you look 14 pounds lighter. The cheapest, easiest and quickest way to look thinner is to stand up straight. Everything lines up, even your fat! Your belly will seem flatter, your back fat will be less noticeable, your boobs will look perkier, and your rounded shoulders will seem more graceful. We can’t think of a single better reason to hold your head up high.

2. Dress Up to Show Off or Conceal.

Begin accepting your curves or lack thereof. Always dress for your specific body type. Get to know your own silhouette. If you have a tiny waist, show it off! If you have legs for miles, do NOT cover them up! The key is to accept what you have and make the best of it. There are enough garments on the market to help you fake a good figure. If the “ideal” shape is a well-balanced hourglass (no matter what the size, 2-22), this can be fudged by choosing garments that help create this illusion even when it isn’t there. I recommend that curvy gals embrace their bosom and bottom by wearing gorgeous necklines and prim, but provocative pencil skirts.

3. Try the Universal Miracle Clothing

The one piece of clothing that works wonders on all women is the universally flattering 3/4-length sleeve, clavicle-exposing, hip-length top. The neckline draws attention to the center of your body, away from your edges. The 3/4-sleeves don’t add visual bulk to your look, while still camouflaging upper-arm trouble areas. The hip-length covers unruly bellies and makes butts look smaller from the back. When you really wants to suck it all in, rely on Rago Control Top Underwear, a corseted, boned, control-top undergarment from the 1940s–an eco-choice if ever there was one, given its vintage provenance. But experts don’t recommend vintage underpinnings for everyday because a girl’s got to breathe!

4. A Calculated Camouflage
One of the biggest trends this year is layering and it’s the key to looking slimmer. Winter wardrobes are a fat girl’s friend. Those opaque control-top tights, knee-high boots, and scarves that we’ve come to rely on when temperatures drop, can also help camouflage a host of figure flaws. But the trick to making it all work is putting dark colors under lighter colors. It tricks the eye into believing that the darker bits are actually farther away, a. k. a. smaller. Remember the idea of a shadow–a silhouette in a lighted doorway–you want the darker in the center, the light on the outside. It frames your figure in the most flattering way.

5. Wear Black in Right Fit
What is that one piece of advice you have heard all your life when it comes to dressing thin? Wear dark colors. Our experts agree, but with one caveat. Black obviously camouflages, but again, I think that black only works well if it is a proper fit. Anything that is too big, or proportionally off isn’t going to help a body appear thinner. So remember: While that roomy, black, boyfriend cardigan may be the comfiest thing you grab in the morning, it’s not always the most fetching choice.

6. Denim Jeans Make it Easier

If the perfect 3/4-length sleeve top is a miracle worker for your top, what works wonders for your bottom? A comfortable, but oh-so-sexy pair of jeans, of course. It is a pain to go out and try on a million pairs of jeans to find the perfect fit, but once you do find it, dressing for most occasions becomes that much easier. We love the idea of no-brainer party dressing and these skinny-but-not-second-skin jeans from Levi’s eco collection are a good fit (no pun intended). Remember to throw on a pair of heels to elongate the leg and you are ready for virtually any social situation.

7. Stripes Modification

We’ve all heard that horizontal stripes make you look bigger, but recent experiments by British scientists have found just the opposite. They say it’s actually vertical stripes that give the illusion of a fuller figure whereas horizontal ones make you look thinner. Of course vertical stripes make curvy women look even curvier, duh! They expand and contract around your curves, which actually emphasizes your trouble spots. Or you can go for no stripes at all. Horizontal stripes are delightful, but they are not for everyone. As with everything, it really depends on the specific item of clothing.

How a Filipina Mother Saves Time

One should wonder how the typical Filipina mom fits everything into her hectic days. Actually, there’s a handful of single individuals who can manage to handle successfully the requirements of work, home, life, and fun. Yet, over and above these responsibilities, moms include car pool duty, cupcake emergencies, and last-ditch science projects to their to-do lists. Thus, how does a Pinay mother manage all these everyday jobs and household tasks into her life and still keeps her sanity? Here are 4 ways for moms to save time for the completion of all other tasks:

Consider making a list of tasks that need to be completed. Then, take a hard look at that list for anything that could be simplified or eliminated. For example, do your children really need home baked cupcakes for the school party? The bakery up the street will be happy to box up 24 cupcakes and have them ready for you to pick up the next morning, saving you at least a half hour.

Identify tasks that really take a lot of time, but could be done by someone else. If your children are too young to help walk the dog, you may want to consider hiring a dog walker to give your pooch his daily exercise. Errand services are also a great time saver. You can have your errand service shop for back to school supplies, pick up groceries, or get the dry cleaning. A maid service can come in once a week to do some heavy duty cleaning. Another task that takes a lot of time is cooking. However, you can stop cooking a meal from scratch every evening and still feed your family without hitting speed dial for your favorite pizza with bulk cooking. Pick a weekend and cook enough food for an entire month of meals. Freeze the food in dinner size portions and simply reheat a dinner each evening.

Take time off for yourself. Of course moms who work from home have a flexibility that other moms don't have. If you become overwhelmed with all that you have to do, give yourself permission to take some time off to catch up. If you simply can't take time off, you may want to find a mother's helper to watch the children and do some basic household chores while you work.

Finally, if it seems you are always spending your evenings helping your children complete big assignments that are due the next day, give each of your children a homework notebook. If they neglect to write assignments down, ask their teachers to initial the assignment book, so you will know that all assignments are listed. This will eliminate all of those last minute posters, science fair projects, and reports that moms seem to end up helping with until midnight the night before they are due.

Abused Filipinas Consider Leaving as a Complex and Confusing Process

For battered Filipina women nothing could be easier than walking out that door. That momentary decision somehow sounds simple in the brink of anger or danger but the abused woman actually goes through a process of leaving that can be obscured at every stage by vague uncertainty.

When a Pinay disengages from a relationship, she is often uncertain about her family's relative status. Is he finally out of her life? He may be physically at home but psychologically out of stock. He doesn’t seem to care for her nor the kids anymore. She may have physically renounced him but they are still psychologically attached. She misses him, and for the sake of the kids, she would like her family to be whole again.

We could see this struggle clearly on how Filipino women view the family situations at different stages in the course of leaving. It's confusing and the stage continuum is ambiguous. It's parallel to the experience of having a child depart for college. Your child is no longer with you at home, but you're still very conne
cted to him/her emotionally. Yet, when he/she comes home for visits, he/she may ignore you while he/she gives special attention to friends.

It's often difficult to comprehend what the new boundaries are on such transitions in life. Abused women from diverse backgrounds recognize ambiguity within the different stages of the leaving process.

First, women start to disengage emotionally from their affairs. They construe their little indifference as a beginning of not caring for him anymore.

That is followed by the usual occurrence of abusive incidents and apparent consequences of the hostilities on their children. Women prepare to leave, such as looking for a place to stay or surreptitiously saving up money. This stage is significant for women as they switch from thinking about leaving to really doing something about it.

The next is when women take action; we see a lot of what we call back-and-forth actions because when women leave, the emotions often rush back. This necessitates clarity. Women fancy for physical and emotional connection again.

The last part of the process which is maintenance can be achieved when women have been gone for six months or more. But even then, they may have boundary ambiguity if their ex-spouse won't let them go. With continued contact through court-ordered child visitation, the prospect for continuing abuse stays as well as sustained confusion over the abuser's role in the woman's life.

Truly, leaving a relationship is much more complex than just deciding to transform herself, and it involves more than a woman's prioritizing her well-being. Other factors are drawn in. The abuser makes decisions that affect a woman's movement through the whole process. And children can be a dominant influence in encouraging a woman to get out of a relationship and in pulling her back in.

It's important for social work professionals and frustrated family and friends to understand the process of leaving. Often shelter workers focus on safety and tangible needs such as a job and housing. They don't help women disentangle themselves emotionally. But it's hard for women to get out of the situation if they haven't resolved these relationship issues.

Discouraged friends and family members have to learn to view leaving as a process and realize that there's little they can say to speed it along. It's important for them to reinforce the risks the woman is facing by asking such questions as 'Has he become more abusive? Does he have a gun?' When talking to an abused friend or family member, you should always emphasize safety, but for your own sanity, you should realize that leaving is a process and she has to work her way through it herself.

When women do finally achieve both physical and emotional separation, research shows that they experience fewer health problems and less depression.

When Love Compromises a Women's Privacy

The lyrics of the song "How Do You Keep the Music Playing?" strike me whenever it plays. That part on "How do you lose yourself to someone and never lose you ways?" expresses the predicament of Filipino women (Pinays) who fall madly in love with someone. When the distance between lovers get too close for comfort, the space to move freely and be your best self is lost. The weaker person gets lost on her/his lover's strength and persistence. There is no more room to grow and maintain balance . . . and worse it could be dangerous. Lets read this story below:

Trixie is dating a local artist. She has known him for a couple of months. She knew that most artists had their own way of doing things. Her boy friend was no different. He was a seemingly nice guy but he took some getting use to. Sometimes he did unusual things.

For example, he once sat in a tree for 2 days. He said he was trying to get a feel of how birds felt. She figured it was just one of the weird habits that all artists possess. He also, frequently asked her to pose for photographs, but she refused. She thought that was the end of it but he persisted. At first she was enjoying the attention. Then it just became annoying. He seemed to be obsessed with getting those photographs. He told her how he had never seen anyone as photogenic as her. He even said he thought she would make a terrific model.

He said he could send her photographs to some magazines to see what they thought. She thought are you crazy, I do not want my photographs in everyones hands. She declined. He stopped asking for a while. One day she went to his apartment. While she was there, he wanted to go out and get some art supplies.

Trixie thought buying art supplies was boring, so she stayed at the apartment. She wanted to learn more about what made the artist tick. She looked around the apartment. It was full of all types of art. She struggled to understand what was going through his mind when he created some of the pieces. He seemed to have a bizarre fascination with women. She dismissed it as just a part of his passion.

She came across a giant black photo album. She opened the album and thumbed through a few pages. All the photographs were of women. She thought, I can finally see how I compare to his previous girl friends. She looked at the pictures. She came across a section marked, special, with a black divider. She flipped the divider, and what she saw shocked her. It was photographs of her in her bathtub at home.

She became really scared and nervous. She did not know what to do. Fearing that the artist may be dangerous, she did not stay and confront him. All she could think about was getting out of that apartment with those photographs. She took the photographs to the police. They arrested the artist and charged him with invasion of privacy. Fearful of the consequences, Trixie moved to another province.

Trixie knew that the artist had planted some kind of hidden camera in her bathroom. She still wonders if other photographs will surface one day, in hard copies or in the internet. We all have to be careful of the people we allow into our homes and lives. Technology has made it possible for a persons privacy to be revealed to the world. It has also made it possible to know when someone is spying on you and your family.

You should periodically check your home and surroundings for invasion. Never under estimate the capability of an unscrupulous person. Lives have been ruined because of information or photographs and videos of people in compromising positions and acts. Protect your privacy by being aware that you can be a victim. Take steps to insure that you have the privacy you think you have. (Source: Free Articles)

It's true that love's a sacrifice, it is giving yourself unconditionally to the person you love. But it should be reciprocated fairly with respect and equal if not greater amount of affection. Becoming a part of a person's life should not become a break into her own privacy no matter what.

Sharing a Bed with Someone is Good for Pinays

Filipinas can now take some lull on their gripes regarding sleep disturbance when they’re with their partners. Had they known that men’s situation has been even worse, they would be grateful for the advantage. For the typical Pinay, who needs to feel in safe hands when things go bump in the night, having him close by helps with that. That does not mean that she does not appreciate the distance that a king size bed offers, but still, she wants him within arm’s reach. But what is really the score?

Conjectures about male folly go as far back to Adam and Eve. Now “brain drain” due to bed-sharing has been identified as a cause of diminished cognitive function in men. “We weren’t meant to share beds. Sex and sleeping together is a modern phenomenon, ” said researchers who developed the study. The syndrome appears to affect men far more than women, as women appear to be programmed to cope with sleep disruption better than men.

The study did show that sex appeared to perk up male listening skills. “At least the men appeared to be listening after sex, but maybe they were finally able to get some sleep,” said the researchers. When men spend the night with a bed mate, their sleep is disturbed. Whether they make love or not, and the sleep disturbance impairs their mental ability the next day because their lack of sleep increases their stress hormone levels.

According to the New Scientist study, women who share a bed fare better because they sleep more deeply. Both sexes had a more disturbed night's sleep when they shared their bed. But women apparently managed to sleep more deeply when they did eventually drop off, since they claimed to be more refreshed than their sleep time suggested. Their stress hormone levels and mental scores did not suffer to the same extent as the men.

Dr Neil Stanley, a sleep expert at the University of Surrey, said: “It's not surprising that people are disturbed by sleeping together. Historically, we have never been meant to sleep in the same bed as each other. It is a bizarre thing to do. Sleep is the most selfish thing you can do and it's vital for good physical and mental health. Sharing the bed space with someone who is making noises and who you have to fight with for the duvet is not sensible. If you are happy sleeping together that's great, but if not, there is no shame in separate beds.” And then he said there was a suggestion that women are pre-programmed to cope better with broken sleep. Women experience a lot of life events that disturb their sleep - bringing up children, the menopause and even the menstrual cycle.

But people did get used to sharing a bed. If they have shared their bed with their partner for a long time they miss them and that will disturb sleep. There is somebody for everybody. But, lots of couples have separate sleeping arrangements and it works just fine for them. I don’t think you should let a little quirk like that spell the end of your hopes for a lifelong relationship. We all have quirks, Pinays have too. It so happened that generally, women get the upperhand.

Celebrating Women's Real Beauty

I have observed Filipina women of all sizes and clothing preferences. When it comes to that gutsy attitude of projecting herself, the strong Pinay holds her own records of surprises and expectations which is no different with what Dawn McIntyre narrates in her article below:

Every day, I strive to live my life guided by my soul, to face the world with an open heart and an open mind, to see and celebrate the beauty in everyone and everything. But something I spotted on the internet this week was so ugly; it completely shook me out of my soul space to the point where I feel it must be explored here.

A few days ago, nearly every major news website or TV entertainment show chose to cover what they viewed as a shocking and newsworthy event.

That event was singer, TV and movie star Jessica Simpson on stage at a chili cook-off -- wearing a pair of so-called "Mom Jeans."

These reports were totally and completely focused on the fact that a beautiful young woman has, as she has grown older and neared her thirties, gained a few pounds. And that she chose to perform for the public wearing a pair of pants that failed to mask this fact.

As an expert in building self esteem and helping women discover their inner beauty, I was, understandably, distressed by the attention this non-event has received in the media. Instead of forcing herself to conform to someone else's standard of beauty, Jessica Simpson chose not to hide her new body, but to share it and celebrate it, no doubt providing self esteem help to the women and girls who saw her perform. After all, if this normal-looking body could be viewed as beautiful, so can other bodies in all shapes and sizes.

But instead of celebrating along with Jessica, the media chose to rake her over the coals for abandoning - at least for now - her quest to maintain the cookie-cutter, size-zero body favored by Hollywood celebrities. What kind of self image message does that send to normal women, who lack the access to personal trainers, personal chefs, plastic surgeons and all manner of artificial enhancements that enable this beauty myth to live on?

It is time for women - and their sons, fathers, husbands, brothers and friends, to reject this false standard of beauty and embrace the New10 Paradigm. It is time for all women - in all sizes, shapes, races and colors - to be celebrated for their unique, individual beauty, both outside and in.

Luckily, this past Sunday, my faith in humanity was restored, at least a little bit. There on stage at the Super Bowl was Jennifer Hudson, an award-winning actress and singer who has never been a Size Zero. As Jennifer took the stage to sing America's national anthem - her first appearance since a horrible tragedy shattered her family a few months ago - the media raved about how beautiful she looked. They raved about her outfit. They raved about her poise. And they didn't mention a word about her size.

When it came to Jennifer Hudson, the media finally got it. They saw the beauty of her heart. They saw the beauty of her soul. And yes, they saw that physical beauty can come in all shapes and sizes.

Now if they can just learn to apply that same standard to Jessica Simpson - and all the rest of the beautiful, soulful, loving, REAL women out there - we'd really be getting somewhere.

Know Thy Own Scent

An unexpected comment was made by one TESDA director on the graduation rites of hundreds of technical-vocational trainees in a certain training institution in the Philippines. He said that one outstanding quality of Filipino workers that set them apart in the world is that they smell good. It sounds funny really, but for Filipina ladies, it is really essential to understand thy own scent because it sets them apart and makes them so likeable.

Generally for men, women, Filipinos or foreigners, it is really good to realize and recognize how your body smells as it will affect the your social standing, your acceptability , the strength of your personality, and the type of perfume you choose, or amount of particular perfume oil you add while making your own perfume.

The body and skin of each person has a peculiar smell - analogous to a fingerprint, voice check or a model of your DNA. It is scientifically verified that our qualms, hopes, necessities, our dietary preferences, our health, our ability to judge and liberate, are greatly influenced by the scent of our body. There are several fascinating stories about how detectives and spies were able to trace out the thieves by their body odor. It has also been stated by various researchers that the scent of our body has a profound impact upon our brain. When we go out to buy a perfume, or select any aromatic oils, we consciously or innocently choose those fragrances which are acceptable and can easily incorporate with the smell of our skin. The oil or perfume you put on your skin mixes with the smell your body and skin and creates a new fragrance.

If you understand the smell of your body correctly, and purchase and use perfumes suitably, it will have an encouraging effect in your personal and professional life. You will be more vigorous and optimistic in your life.

The best approach for verifying the nature of your own smell is to not take a shower following your workout and don't rinse your hair or sprits on body spray. Give yourself at least two hours and write down what you felt about your own smell, then again after taking a bath to "feel" the smell, and to see the difference in smell. This will help you determine the exact smell of your body. Once you ignore all the artificial smells you put on your body, you will sense the exact smell of your body. Once you recognize the smell of your body, switch over to the fragrance of different perfumes, try them one by one or select any one at random, and use it to see how your body responds to it; if both the smell of skin and the perfume is blending properly then this perfume is correct for your skin. It is also fine if you take three to four different fragrances, before selecting the best, as it may help you in making your final choice.

Remember, your presence is important for you as well as others. Do not forget that it is really essential to smell good and smell correct. Once you know about the nature of the scent of your body, you should go for the smell of the perfume accordingly, as it not only affects your mind and nature, but also affects other's mode as well. So in order to have right perfume, you should rightly know thy scent.

Most perfumes have a three-part smell, which unfolds after you apply it to your skin. You smell top notes within the first 15 minutes of applying. These chemicals first evaporate off your skin. Designers often put weird, unpleasant or spicy smells in this phase so that they interest you but don't hang around long enough to offend. Heart notes appear after 3 to 4 hours. The chemicals creating these smells evaporate more slowly from your skin. They're probably what you remember about the perfume; if it's a floral perfume, flowery smells go here. Base notes stick stubbornly to your skin. You smell them within 5 to 8 hours of application Musky, watery, mossy and woody chemicals often go in the base. By the way the word note is just perfume jargon for an individual smell.

Knowing that perfumes smell by evaporating, you can take better care in applying them. When applying, spread the perfume, but don't rub it in vigorously, because the heat you create will evaporate the top notes and weaken the overall smell.

Your temperature and oiliness seem most important. The top notes will evaporate faster from warm and dry skin than cool and oily skin. Otherwise, by the time the heart notes emerge, the perfume smells the same on everyone.

The Filipina: Baring her Essentials

There are lots of testimonials and statements about the nature of Filipino women (Filipinas or Pinays as they are called). Most of these, however, imply the Pinays’ sexual prominence to males, especially foreigners. Some Filipinos keep on pushing the impression that Pinays are generally for delight and companionship. So when a foreigner turns up on Philippine soil, the usual question asked is: How do you find our women or girls? What a sad image to project.

Actually, the awesome Filipina are known over the world for their sweetness, kindness and intelligence, not to mention their stunning beauty and strength. Their long black hair, smooth tanned skin and charming disposition never fail to capture the hearts of men. But I would like to believe that aside from these delightful attributes, the spirituality and depth of the strong Pinay is the oozing aura that mesmerizes men all over the world.

What the world doesn’t realize is that, the Filipina’s uncomplicated attitude towards partnership is initially a renunciation for the family’s welfare which eventually nurtures into loyalty and affection. The Filipina knows very well that love means service and devotion which is unparalleled all over the world. The material rewards are not meant for personal gains but more for her folks and kin. When she loves, she loves more.

Being devout Christians, The Filipinas' faith in God always comes first. They don’t easily give up and that unswerving hope could hold affairs on solid ground. They are serious about relationships. Unlike western women, Filipinas are not so keen on playing around or having casual contacts. Most Pinays would rather wait for the right man to come along rather than have flings just to have somebody around. This means that if you want to pursue having a relationship with a Filipina, you must be serious about it and forget about the idea of scoring a casual thing.

It’s true, they are really delightful companions in life, heaven-sent so to say. But that’s because her spirituality holds her physical fiber so beautifully woven that it transcends the physical desire into holistic admiration. Her family, friends, acquaintances should know…

Filipina in Naked Parfum

The lovely Filipina considers perfumes as much a part of her fashion style as the accessories she prefers. Just like her fashion choices, the fragrance she chooses says a lot about her personality. Designer fragrances are like designer handbags, with different styles for the day and night, summer and rainy days. This sweet Pinay’s perfume can say a lot about her mood. Here are some points to bear in mind regarding scents and perfumes, The mind-body connection is most obvious in our sense of smell. A fine fragrance has the potential to invigorate you with its affluent or subtle scents. It has the power to define your persona and effectively transmit your significance to the world. If you're in a corporate set-up, it would be practical to pick a perfume that has a crisp, light and pleasant fragrance. If you’re attending a wedding or an important event, based on your feelings, your perfume can be rich and spicy, sweet and fresh or even have a touch of mystery and allure. The differences between a man and women are never more pronounced than when perfumes are concerned. Women go for delicate floral scents, while men go for more pungent and outdoorsy ones - emphasizing nature in all its ruggedness. The fiery aroma of musk for instance, will definitely feature in a male perfume, as will the fresh, light earthy scent of pine-cones. The fruity fragrance of jasmine, the sweet, heady sophistication of pure rose - these have been scents that define a woman, or more particularly the classy strong Pinay. Most Filipina students and working girls exude such captivating whiff that appeal to cultured men and the elegant at heart.
