Just as moonwalking Pinoys (male Filipinos) are saddened by the sudden death of their idol, Michael Jackson, so are the many young Filipina students who love his music and admire his person.
What makes the pop icon's death dishearten a big number of Pinays? Is it the vain physical transformations that they can identify with? Well, almost all Filipinas want fairer complexion. Michael's mixture of mystery, isolation, indulgence, overwhelming global fame, and personal loneliness was intimately known to all of us. As easy as it was for Pinays anf Pinoys to love him, his death seemed almost fated.
